DARE COUNTY | A new law effective May 1, 2010, requires all boaters younger than 26 who operate motor boats of 10 horsepower and greater, including personal watercraft, to complete and pass a boating safety course approved by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. To meet the demand, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 1604 in Buxton will be offering a Boating Skills and Seamanship course at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays during September. The first class will meet at the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club.
